Structural Integration

Form and function are a unity, two sides of one coin. In order to enhance function, appropriate form must exists or be created.
— Ida Rolf

Posture doesn’t lie. It tells us so much.

If we know how to interpret, it gives us insight into where imbalances have set in and in addition, which specific muscle groups have been overloaded. Posture allows us to quickly identify the body’s relationship with gravity. In addition it help us locate the fascial restrictions in the body. These lines create drag on our structure which in turn creates an inefficiency of energy and function.

When the body is in imbalance, muscles are forced to sustain a constant contraction, causing fatigue, a decrease in movement and function and lastly, pain.

What is Structural Integration?

SI is the re-organization of the body’s fascial network otherwise known as connective tissue. Through manual manipulation techniques we can facilitate better movement and create more balance with in the body’s skeletal and muscular systems. Structure plays a key role in our approach. By treating the body were it has the greatest strain or imbalance we find the client’s pain rapidly subsides. Without pain our clients move freely and stop being prisoners in their own bodies.

In other words it makes you stand taller and move like a ninja.
